Hi Claire,
We issue a hard copy to our Yr 7s automatically. From Yr 8 onwards students opt in or opt out for a hard copy diary. We also have a digital copy available but in all honestly, students tended to use their Google Calendars, sticky notes and iCalendar instead since our students all have MacBooks.
cheerio!
I have attached our role description for Teaching and Learning Leader: Learning Diversity. The role is also supported by the Learning Diversity Administration Assistant and we provide time allowance for two LSOs for NCCD.
Hi there,
We have 3 lessons over the 10 day cycle at both 7 & 8. Each lesson is 73 minutes.
enjoy the last few days of term everyone!
I am keen to hear what others are doing too. We will be using it but not entirely sure how just yet. We have asked for expressions of interest from potential tutors and I imagine we will have responses from the same as you David as well as some CRTs perhaps. I am interested in how other schools are identifying students for tutoring and what data sets they are using.
Hi everyone,
We have shortened all lessons (4 a day) to 60 minutes. We have an 8-minute Homeroom check-in via Google Meet, 5 min break, Lesson 1, 10 min break Lesson 2, 10 min break, Lesson 3, Lunch break, Lesson 4 and then from 2.20 – 3.17 is Self Directed time. This is when students can catch up with work, meet with teachers or peers for collaborative work etc. I would say that many of our 7 -10s use this time to have a break – which is okay!
Our lessons are a mixture of face to face Google Meets, set work and self-paced work on Google Classroom and through Learning Areas. We are encouraging staff and students to work with the Launch, Explore, Review model to reduce screen time and foster independence.
It is great seeing what other people are doing – some inspiration!
stay safe and well everyone, Catherine. St Mary MacKillop College
