We are a few steps down the road with PowerBI – some basic dashboards that our IT people have built for us after shifting from an external provider last year. Early days though.

    Hi Bernadette,

Every Monday: Staff reflection / briefing – all staff (3:40-4:00)

Alternate Mondays: various POL teams – House Leader Team, Curriculum Leader Team, Pedagogy Coaches Team, Directors of Learning Team (4:00 – 5:00)

Every second Tuesday: PL program – optional. Staff used to have to sign up to one of the options offered but since COVID we’ve given people the option of organising after school PD such as webinars according to their own needs and interests. As long as they do 5 hours across the semester. (3:40-5:00)

Other Tuesday: Curriculum Area meetings, 2 per term on a rotation (3:40-5:00)

Wednesdays: Alternates between campus, house and all staff meetings, most staff would have a meeting most Wednesdays. (3:40-5:00)

Thursdays and Fridays: no scheduled meetings

So, long story short, the average teacher without a POL has a meeting for 20 min every Monday, an 80 minute meeting most Wednesdays and an 80 minute meeting probably 1 or 2 out of 3 Tuesdays.

Hope that helps – also interesting to see the situation for other schools. Thanks!

    Daniel

Putting out a second call just in case! Reviewing our practical class size guidelines at the moment and would be great to know what others are doing in this area. Have pasted our current guidelines below and wondering if we’re within the norm or not. Thanks.

For Term 1, we’re 2x 2pm – 8:30pm sessions via Teams. Parent feedback last year was overwhelming – 81.5% preferred online, 18.5% favoured return to face to face,

We cancelled Term 2 interviews and replaced with interim reports based on remote learning, with homeroom leaders calling families of students of concern. Will need to reconsider for Term 3 if restrictions are still in place. Looking forward to hearing the experiences of other schools.

We have cancelled mid-semester exams as well. Still considering how we might combine Unit 1&2 at the end of the year.

Looking at options for delivering remotely. Current plan is having a series of overview videos (head of senior campus/DP/VCAL leader) as well as videos from faculty heads giving an overview of their subject offerings. Also including 30 second clips of students in each subject answering three questions – what is this subject about? the best thing about studying this subject this year? where could this subject lead me in the future? Videos will be available on a page on ur LMS, where there will also be a question button to submit queries. Will release these videos a few days before our scheduled evening. On the evening itself, we’ll run a live event through Microsoft Teams where students and families can engage with members of staff to ask questions.
