We have just ordered new furniture to fit out a new campus beginning at Year 7 in 2023.
We ordered the desks and chairs from Woods.
Collaboration furniture and office furniture were from other BFX Furniture, VE Furniture & P4.

We still call them PSTIs.  I like the idea of Learning Conversations by Julie.

End of Term 1 for Year 7-12. End of Term 2 for VCE Unit 3/4 and Yr 12 VCAL to focus on achievement and goals moving forward. Term 3 can be too late for change. End of Term 3 Year 7-11 but Year 12 can still book in for further feedback. Placement of PSTIs allow for semester subjects and changes to Unit 2 giving time for teachers to know their students and how they are going.

We provide ideas to teachers on areas to cover in PSTIs discussions. Focus on achievement,  how students have gone in DLM (student independent learning) and goals going forward.

    Hi Bernadette,

we run 4×75 minutes across a 10 day timetable. It is good to be able to have different subjects on different days, reducing the impact on Mondays which are often Public Holidays or Friday early finishes at end of term. Being 75 minutes there is a greater impact for loss of class. Part-time staff can be the greatest issue in restricting the 10 day timetable if they require a set day. We try to be flexible but work also for the students best interest. we try to get a balance of the number of classes across the 10 days. Most of our subjects have 4 or 6 periods but may be changing to some 5’s in the future. With VCAL and VET it can restrict the days/blockings as both have set days for VET and Work Placements.

Many thanks for this.  I will be in touch as we complete our review in Term 2. I will let our Maths Domain Leader know of the other options schools use. We are currently using JacPlus.

We have a counsellor who is also qualified within the chaplaincy role so will now be split between the two roles. It will be used to look at engagement  of students. No further details as yet.

    Yes will be using it.

Interviewing Pre-service teachers following an expression of interest put out to the ones that we placed last year. Awaiting CEM/Department Guidelines and the Resource/Training information.

Would like to begin a few weeks into Term 1 under the umbrella of our Literacy Co-ordinator. Teachers from 2020 and Domain Leaders (English, Mathematics) to identify the students that would be suitable following the 2020 Semester Two reports. Am also undertaking PAT Testing- R and M, in first few weeks of Term 1, Yrs 7-10.

We are keeping to our current Sem 1 report timeline as we’ve cancelled exams and TATs, so extra time available to cover content. We are mindful of Subject Selection beginning in Term 3 for our Years 9s and 10s and the need to get students enrolled in VET and External VET courses. Delays would result in students missing or ending up on wait lists.

We run 75 minute periods. Have reduced these to 60 minutes for Year 7, with a 15 minute break before next period, plus normal recess and lunch breaks. Following Yr 7 parent feedback next week and student, teacher, parent surveys, we’re considering rolling this into Year 8-10. No final decision yet. VCE/VET would remain as is. Wellbeing Day next week, full school closure, pens down, devices closed, time out for students, teachers and all other staff. We have kept the ‘normal timetable’ for continuity and structure for the students and their day. Joanne H
