    Hi Jo

We are doing similar here at SHGC in reviewing our current criteria / identification and how we support these students.  I am sure our Learning Diversity Leader would be happy to have a conversation with you at some stage

We usually finish all 7 – 11 at the same time, Tues 6 Dec. Our rule of thumb is usually 2 weeks before gazetted date for students and 1 week for teachers

    Cheers

    Hi Fiona

We have already made the decision to not run our Yr 10 Work Experience program next year, too many unknowns. Normally it has been last week of term 2.  Last two years we have run an internal Future Ready program and will do that again.  We are seriously considering not having a compulsory WE program at Year 10 beyond that but have decided to postpone that decisions until next year.

    Kind Regards

    Julie

    Hi Jane

Ours are also called Learning Conversations, to encourage greater student involvement.

We have all Year Levels towards the end of Term 1, different weeks (this year one f-to-f, one virtual).  Focus is generally on discussing the online feedback, as we have been trying to build parents engagement with this over the last two years as we have many who do not access it, and the what next

VCE ones about Week 3 in Term 3 (Week 5 of semester 2) focus similar as mostly year long subjects also on future goals remainder of the year (Yr 12 exam prep, Yr 11 subject selection etc). Moved these earlier into the term last year to be able to make this the focus for senior students.  Generally has worked well.

7 – 10 about Week 9 Term 3 (have many semesterised subjects) thus focus is very similar to Term 1

Both of Term 3 are virtual

    Cheers

    Hi Claire

We do a bit of both, and sometimes it depends on the length of the task but mostly

    • If during normal class time students do SAC at the same time but supervised by Learning Support Team in different venue.
    • If during one of are designated SAC common time then managed by the supervising teacher

For term 1, we too are doing a combination, based on parent and teacher feedback

One onsite – afternoon/evening and a whole day virtual o Teams.  Will make a decision for second semester in light of response to these two.

We have cancelled formal exam period for Unit 1 subjects, but all subjects are having an End of Semester test in scheduled class time. As we thought they would be conducted online we put a maximum time of 50 minutes on these, and we are stayting with this despite being back on site. We kept to our timeline for Unit 2, hoping that then could have an uncomprised Unit 2 so still beginning it on June 15. Still undecided about end of year exams.

At SHGC, our Semester 1 reports only include the VIc Standards or S/N results, a work habits scale and any asssessment tasks (which have been progressivly added across the semester) so we are aiming to have that data entered by the last Wednesday of term 2. Avaialble to parents Week 1 term break. (Althoug we have deferred Unit 3 reports to Term 3) We have modified and scaled back our work habits to only two in order to reflect the current learning environment But we still waiting for CECV to confirm reporting requiements before making a final decison. Which according to yesterday’s statement will be “in the next few days”!!!

SHGC have retained our normal timetable day but reduced all lesson from 65 to 55 mins, Morning homeroom retained but no afternoon homeroom. Most classes conducted via Microsoft teams but this has happened gradually over the term.

All subjects running inclduing PE and wellbeing sessions, as well as many extra- curricular, co-curriuclar programs still being offered eg instrumental music lessons, bridge building (lego style) homework teams, etc.

Retained our early finsih day on a Wednesday, with no “formal” PL activites but offering tech Q&A sessions or time for teams to collobarate.

Next Thursday is Wellness Day for whole school – no screens, no classes etc

We also cancelled our interviews, and replaced with an Interim report to support our continous online feedback. These we accompanied with an invitation that if parents would like a phone call to discuss in person with subject teacher to email them and teacher would ring.
